Writing Information Reports


Literacy Homework: 29th November 2013



At our workshop last week, we had the chance to see a Bearded Dragon up close.

In Literacy, we have spent a lot of time learning about writing an effective report.
Can you write a paragraph about what the Bearded Dragon looks like? Remember to include all the features needed in an interesting report. You may develop your report with more paragraphs of information if you can.

  2. A central bearded dragon is a brownish yellow colour. It has a scwishy tummy but it's back has hard spiky skin. Also it has a long tail and a small head. It's about the size of a cat It has small black eyes and long legs. It has ears but you can't see them. It lives in hot and humid places.

The Bearded Dragon is a scary type of lizard.It is normally found in the Australian rainforest.But people from around the world keep them as pets.It has scary but not sharp spikes.When it meats with another lizard they make there spikes really big saw other lizards get a big shock and some times get frightened.The lizard has a 24 inched long body and a sand type of colour.The lizard has a special type kind of name for its food witch is an insectivore.It means it eats insects.

  6. The Bearded Dragon is a very bumpy creature.
    Most of the time the dragon will be yellow, grey and also a bit green.
    Additionally the mouth of the Bearded Dragon is quit long, the eyes are dark black and they have a white patch on the eye.
    The hands are a medium size but the toes are quite big.
    Often you will find them in the Rain Forest and they are lizards.

  8. The Central Bearded Dragon is a species of lizard (Reptile). The Bearded Dragon is called that because when it's throat gets inflated it makes a beard,and a dragon because of it's spikes.
    The Bearded Dragon can be yellow,brown or green.It's head is wedge-shaped,and it still is as long as the body.There are spikes (Spines) on the throat,sides of the head and sides of the body.Adult Central Bearded Dragons grow up to 24 inches in length.
    They are found in the woodlands and the Rocky deserts of Central Australia.
    They are very popular pets and very gentle in nature.They are very good climbers.When they are threatened they inflate their beard or may change colours.
    The maximum age of the Central Bearded Dragon in the wild is 5 to 8 years.They can live up to 8 to 12 years if in captivity.

  11. The Bearded Dragon

    Introduction:
    A bearded dragon is a lizard and can be of any size (mostly medium and large)

    How does it look?:
    This lizard is very rare. It's head is a triangular shape and it's chin blows and goes darker when breeding. Also, it has rows of spiky spikes which look like a beard. It's an omnivore and eats vegetables, fruits and insects.

    Where does it live?:
    Most of the bearded dragons live in the Australia desert while others live in savannahs, woodlands and rain forests.

    What is it best at?:
    The bearded dragon is best at scaring of predators by blowing up its scaly beard as dark as the night sky.

    Some amazing facts:
    - The bearded dragon's scientific name is 'Pogona Vetticeps'
    - It shoots mild venom, not harmful for people
    - There are 8 species of the bearded dragon.

  12. The Bearded Dragon originates in Australia, where temperatures and climate vary drastically depending on time of year and rainfall.
    Bearded Dragons are excellent climbers and live in rocky and arid areas.
    They are 16-24 inches long,heads are large and triangular. Bodies are flat with pointy side ridges. Colours can be light tan to dark brown and highlighted with red,gold or blue. When it puffs out its throat looks like beard.
    Bearded Dragons live between 6 to 10 year and most of them are calm and don't mind petting or handling.

  15. Bearded dragon live in the rocky semi desert regions and dry open woodlands in Austraila. They adept climbers and love spending time in branches. Males grow up to 40 to 60 cm and females 30 to 50.There characteristics include broad triangular heads and flattened bodies with spiny scales arranged in rows and clusters. These are found on the throat, which can be expaned when threatened. You can keep them as pets in the right tempurature and there diet includes vegetables and insects. BY RAHEEM KA

  20. bearded dragons have triangular heads,round bodies and scout legs.Adults are territorial.Territorial means that they try and protect there territory.Females arm wave to avoid aggression from males, especially if the male is head bobbing.Head bobbing is when a male is moving it's head up and down.There scientific name is Pogona Vetticeps. The male head bobs to show dominance to both smaller insubordinate other males and females that he would like to mate with.As the adults grow they establish social hierarchies in which aggressive and appeasement displays form a normal part of there social interactions.It is also very rare.Most bearded dragons live in the savannas the rain forests they live in Australia they live in woodlands they live in deserts and they also live in scrublands.They are best at scaring predators making there beard black.amazing fact
